چکیده
Abstract Purpose JCOG1109 was a three-arm randomized phase III trial to confirm the survival advantage of docetaxel plus cisplatin 5-fluorouracil (DCF) and (CF) combined with radiotherapy (CF-RT) over CF as preoperative treatment for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The purpose this study evaluate impact thoracic duct (TD) resection, its association pathological response in patients who were enrolled JCOG1109. Materials Methods: Patients potentially resectable cancer randomly assigned three therapies followed by open or thoracoscopic esophagectomy regional lymphadenectomy. Clinicopathological factors, surgical results which include status TD compared among groups. Furthermore, resection evaluated subgroup based on therapy. Results Between December 2012 July 2018, 601 (CF/DCF/CF-RT; 199/202/200). Of 589 eligible JCOG1109, 541 underwent (CF/DCF/CF-RT, 183/181/177). showed significantly worse PFS non-responders, whereas no significant difference responders. When analysis using response, better OS those received DCF achieved response. Conclusion Intensive local control might contribute improve responders after

Multicenter, phase II clinical trial of peptide vaccination with oral chemotherapy following curative resection for stage III colorectal cancer
The safety and immunological responsiveness of a peptide vaccine of ring finger protein 43 and 34-kDa translocase of the outer mitochondrial membrane combined with uracil-tegafur/leucovorin (UFT/LV) was previously demonstrated in metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) in a phase I clinical trial. To clarify the survival benefit of a peptide vaccine combined with UFT/LV as adjuvant treatment, a phas...
متن کاملSurgical Resection of Thoracic Duct Lymphangioma
A 67-year-old male patient came to the hospital due to lung cancer and mediastinal cystic mass which was suspected to be esophageal duplication cyst. Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) was performed and intra-operative finding suggested it as a cystic mass along the thoracic duct. Thoracic duct was ligated and the cyst was completely resected. A 48-year-old female patient visited the h...
متن کاملBiostatistics 203. Survival analysis.
Since survival time is a quantitative variable, why can’t we just use the usual techniques from Table I? Before we explain the main reason why we use survival analysis, let’ us consider a simple example on the survival times (in months) for 25 lung cancer patients who all died; the timings are : 1, 5, 6, 6, 9, 10, 10, 10, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 13, 15, 16, 20, 24, 24, 27, 32, 34, 36, 36, 44 months...
متن کاملMicroRNA-203 predicts human survival after resection of colorectal liver metastasis
BACKGROUND Resection of colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) can be curative. Predicting which patients may benefit from resection, however, remains challenging. Some microRNAs (miRNAs) become deregulated in cancers and contribute to cancer progression. We hypothesized that miRNA expression can serve as a prognostic marker of survival after CRLM resection. RESULTS MiR-203 was significantly over...
متن کاملInterim analysis of postoperative chemoradiotherapy with capecitabine and oxaliplatin versus capecitabine alone for pathological stage II and III rectal cancer: a randomized multicenter phase III trial
The aim of this study is to present an interim analysis of a phase III trial (NCT00714077) of postoperative concurrent capecitabine and radiotherapy with or without oxaliplatin for pathological stage II and III rectal cancer. Patients with pathologically confirmed stage II and III rectal cancer were randomized to either radiotherapy with concurrent capecitabine (Cap-RT group) or with capecitabi...
